With the global Black Lives Matter movement making positive steps in society, we felt a cultural project during Black History Month would be a welcome and effective means of engagement with the community in Tower Hamlets.
Our team of experienced creative professionals, including a national charities, are best positioned to encourage and engage our Borough's residents. Not only would it bring people together, we would also address how best to encourage more engagement and build on local pride and a sense of belonging in the borough.
Supporting community-led projects and using our expertise in community cohesion is at the heart of our organisational aims. It is our belief that local people know their communities better than anyone else, and it is our aim to provide the most effective platform, resources and opportunities to give them the tools to survive, thrive and evolve both personally and socially.
Trapped in Zone One is working towards creating a new public mural at Chicksand Street Park with artists Coma and Sky High as part of Black History Month (2020) in Tower Hamlets to celebrate the Borough’s rich cultural diverse communities.
