Our ‘Thank You Tower Hamlets’ project was completed in December 2021. Thank you to Tower Hamlets Homes and residents of Shadwell Gardens this project allowed us to combine culture with creativity by producing a new community mural in Shadwell Gardens to celebrate heritage in the borough honouring the 50th independence anniversary of Bangladesh and thank communities in Tower Hamlets for coming together during the pandemic helping the most vulnerable in our society.
The mural painted by Alex Altona and Woskerski working with young creatives features the design of a Bangladeshi female in a saree offering a gesture of thank you in the form of a South Asian sweet box accompanied by the Bangladesh flag in the background with Joy Tower Hamlets written across.
